Do not use in reef aquariums and note.
Copper test kit for cupramine.
Test for copper with our multtest.
In case anyone else thought that their api copper test didnt work with cupramine i thought id share this.
Cupramine contains 10 000 mg l of copper and 100 ml treats over 500 gallons.
This test kit works awesome.
Im using cupramine on my 10g qt tank.
The instructions are based on gallons 1 ml per 10 5 gallons.
Also make sure to monitor your fish for increased signs of stress.
After doing some geometry i figured that i actually had 9 5g of water in there so i added 19 drops on day one.
By then most all of the copper should be removed from your system.
It does not damage the filter bed.
You can make sure of this by testing with our multitest copper test kit.
Some kits measure only ionic copper and others measure both ionic and chelated copper.
If you use cupramine since it is copper based i would make sure to have some copper test kit on hand.
Then i tested for copper the next morni.
This test kit works awesome.
Considering that you have already added cupramine to your reef aquarium i would definitely follow the instructions 2 doses 2 days apart.
This kit uses a highly sensitive catalytic compleximetric based procedure to measure all types of copper to less than 0 01 mg l in marine or freshwater.
I was really skeptical about the effectiveness of this test kit in conjunction with cupramine copper treatment after reading lots of mixed reviews about the overall quality of the test misleading amount of tests in the kit etc.
Always have a copper test kit on hand.
Marine or freshwater use.
Multitest copper performs over 75 tests and contains a reference sample for validation.
Copper is a heavy mental that can be found naturally in many forms.
Do not use in conjuction with paraguard.
When used as an algaecide the copper is absorbed by the algae then released when it dies.
I have also used cupramine in fact i am using it now not in home aquarium and i have not noticed it stressing my fish out.
